CORRUPTION AT THE DAVAO CITY COUNCIL: Incriminating audio tape to pin down extorting dad?

PREDICTIONS

BY MADAME IRING

Oh, what a happy scene. Big, big men in a big party somewhere in a house of a politician in what could be San Juan. No, it is not San Juan, the neighboring village of BARPA (Barrio Patay) in seedy Agdao district in Davao City. It is in Metro Manila. There were senators, congressmen, alta sociedad people. And a young man.
Oh, I see the young man, looks like a member of the Davao City Council. Do I see a bigtime property developer talking with the city councilor? Is it a birthday party? No klaro. My crystal ball fades out. And then….
Oh, it’s a morning, early, I see a man, looks like a city official, in his house—big house high on a hill, very high, facing Matina Shrine Hills, so near I could hear Allan Abais broadcasting from his booth at DXAB and  ABS/CBN and Jun Digamon ranting  in GMA radio.
The man was with a fella from media—female? male? the fella looks more like a he than a she—they’re talking in whispers. The sound volume of my crystal ball is a wreck, I could not use it.
What’s that? The media fella pulls out a tape recorder, the brand RAM is seen clearly on its side, twitches a dial, pushes the recorder to the ear of the man, who listened, wide-eyed.
Three minutes of play. I hear faint sounds of people talking—sounds like there’s a party, the San Juan party?– and a louder voice of a man talking about a project, city councilors, approval, Davao City, reclamation project, PPP, President Aquino, Estrada, Ejercito, Monteverde, chamber of commerce and industry, and—-the sound is not clear, I could not make it out—but was it something about a deal—a dirty deal? My crystal ball knows best, it could know what was happening, I am clueless, but my nose smells—extortion by legislation!
The man and the media fella in the crystal ball were silent after the audio play.
And then I hear the man, the man with the house up in the hill with the media fella—“Pila kaha amo bahin diha? (How much could be our share in that?) “—or something. Is the man also a member of the Davao City Council? I do not know but he looks ragged for a city councilor. The scene fades….

Now I see a group of people (Davao City councilors? I am not sure). around a table with a pile of mailing envelopes, stuffed with what-I-do-not-know. Peso signs, big fat peso signs were floating above them dancing with big bold letters of the alphabet: five As and two Bs, one of the Bs wearing a skirt.
Then back to previous scene: the media fella stands up—picks up his/her things—and before rushing for the door, lifts his/her fingers to his/her lips: SHHHHHH!!! The man stands up, leads the fella to the door, lifts a hand to wave goodbye and brings it to his lips: SHHHHHHHH!!!Scene fades out, and then….

I see an angry man —Rodrigo Duterte, vice mayor of Davao City? Looks like it—in the  middle of other men and women—City councilors? Looks like it—in a room—green?—in a tall building—Davao City Council building?

Looks like it—the angry man was red-faced, delivering a sermon to the men and women about corruption, extortion, etc., etc. The young man in the San Juan party was there. Ashen-faced. Scene fades.
Now this is clearer—the scene, the audio.

The young man is standing with the microphone in a session at the Davao City Council, delivering a privilege speech. He denies he is involved in corruption. Scene fades—-and then…….
Thunder and lightning! Linti yawa! Broooooom! ZZZZZZZZttttttttzzzzz!!! Kaboooom! Kablanggggg! My crystal ball trembles. Oh, no! no! Please don’t break! The riot stops. And then…..
I see  an electric power plant, Davao City Light and Power building, electric lines on power posts, Smart and Globe signs, a big PLDT logo and a front page image of the Durian Post weekly newspaper showing AboitizPower’s coal-fired power plant in Binugao, Toril spewing deadly ash.
Am lost. I could not decipher the scene!
Ah, wires, wires, wires! Phone wires, power line wires. Audio? Recorder?
I got it! WIRETAPPING!
The media fella has a RAM-brand audio recorder with the audio possibly tapped in secret at the San Juan party that recorded the young man’s conversation on the dirty deal!
Yudipuga!
Is the the crystal ball riot an omen of trouble ahead—if that audio recording that could be an incriminating evidence of extortion is bared in public?
Or it is it a warning of bad, bad days ahead for the young man in the San Juan party, in the room where vice mayor Duterte verbally crucified city councilors alleged to be linked to extortion, in the council session delivering a privilege speech?

Is it a warning to the young man that he shut up his mouth or he will get zapped further by that audio recording?

My crystal ball of late has been naughtily talkative, straying into mysterious dirty dealings rather than talk about the good of the past, the present and future or give me guaranteed winning numbers in LAST TWO. Its latest winning numbers tip-to-the-millionaires-poors-row is MENTIN 99-13-48-07-64. MENTIN in last-two parlance in this last-two crazy Davao City means you “maintain” the numbers by betting on them non-stop everyday , up to kingdom come, up till you lose your shirt and pants and wife from gambling on last two. (BALATO HA? My number is 09308945468, in case you hit the jackpot.)

I have warned my crystal ball to stop the foolishness about reading about corruption or I break it to smithereens next time it unearth dirt—and tempt me to bare them in public—before it could send me into a deep shit!

I told this bastard of a thing that our contract with DURIANBURGDAVAO Mindanao newsblog, today the country’s hottest newsblog,  and the Durian Post Weekly, the hottest and fightingest weekly in Mindanao, was to write columns about its predictions,  and that acting like we are the Ombudsman or member of the ethics committee of the Davao City Council is out of our radar.
