Realizing that his pre-election propaganda campaign is becoming incredible, House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez reportedly has dismissed his crew of fake media and ‘Last Two’ radio broadcasters.
The apparently paid broadcasters—radio characters unlicensed by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) or sellers of probable winning lottery numbers in “block time” radio slots — have been for more than a year praising Alvarez, who represents Davao del Norte’s Second District in Congress, and crucifying the Speaker’s foes in their broadcasts in radio stations in Davao City and Davao del Norte.
Suddenly one day last week while they remain on air, the pro-Alvarez broadcasters ceased praising the Speaker and stopped attacking Davao del Norte’s Second District Representative Antonio Floirendo Jr. and Governor Anthony del Rosario.
Floirendo and Del Rosario are Alvarez’s political nemesis in Davao del Norte.
Gipangbuhian na. Wala na gi-renew ang kontrata sa mga radio stations( They were dismissed. Their contracts with the radio stations were not renewed), said a source aware of the development.
The source, a broadcaster who asked anonymity, admits that he belongs to the so-called “Alvarez media.” He said he no longer broadcast in an afternoon program in an AM radio station in Davao City because he cannot afford to pay the air time. He bares that several other broadcasters in FM stations in Davao del Norte are in similar situation.
