President Rodrigo Duterte said peace negotiations with the National Democratic Front (NDF) may resume in July.
Duterte earlier invited Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria “Joma” Sison to return home to the Philippines for the resumption of the talks in a bid to end the decades old communist insurgency.
“I will be talking to the rebels. I’m talking to Sison. We will start the talks maybe around July,” Duterte he said before a gathering of barangay officials in Lapu-Lapu City on Thusday, June 7.
