Bureau of Corrections Director Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa confirmed on Tuesday that he will run for governor of Davao del Sur in the upcoming 2019 polls.
The former Philippine National Police chief, who led the administration’s war on drugs, made the confirmation after he transferred his voter’s registration to Santa Cruz in Davao del Sur.
“Well that is in preparation for the incoming 2019 elections because the last instructions given to me by the president is for me to run as governor of Davao del Sur,” he said.
Bato will face Governor Douglas Cagas in the 2019 mid-term election.
